Position Summary
The Institute of Islamic Education (IIE), a reputable faith-based educational institution located in Elgin, Illinois, invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Male High School Language Arts Teacher for the Boys’ Campus. This full-time faculty role will commence in Summer 2025.
We seek an enthusiastic and accomplished educator who is passionate about the study and teaching of literature, composition, and critical thinking. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional capabilities, a commitment to academic excellence, and a clear dedication to fostering student growth within a values-based academic environment.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Instruct courses in grammar, composition, and both American and British literature
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate meaningful classroom discussions
- Encourage critical thinking and thoughtful literary analysis
- Design and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Administer assessments and provide timely academic support to students
Learning Environment
- Establish a structured, supportive, and intellectually stimulating classroom climate
- Set and enforce consistent academic expectations
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, and administrators to meet the academic and personal development needs of students
- Actively contribute to the broader educational objectives and mission of the Institute
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in high school-level instruction is required
- Male applicants only, as this position is designated for the Boys’ Campus
- Full-time availability and professional commitment to the academic calendar
