The Islamic Institute of Education (IIE) was founded in 1989 by Shaykh al-Ḥadīth Mawlānā Muḥammad ‘Abdullāh Sāleem and his late wife, with a vision to preserve the sacred knowledge of Islam and provide Muslim youth in America with an education rooted in the Qur’ān, Sunnah, and classical Islamic sciences. What began as a modest initiative in their home in Elgin, Illinois, has since evolved into one of the most respected Islamic institutions in the country. By the grace of Allah ﷻ, IIE has produced hundreds of ḥuffāẓ and dozens of ‘ulamā’, many of whom now serve as imāms, educators, and leaders across the nation.
